Thanks for getting in touch about SERENITY DREAMSCAPE LTD.
I can see your company has a 31 December year-end registered with Companies House. If your company was dormant and started trading on 1 May 2024, your first CT600 period would typically be:
1 May 2024 to 31 December 2024 (8 months)
Your CT600 always ends on your registered year-end (ARD), so with a 31 December year-end, the period ends 31 December - not 30 April.
Have you received a Notice to Deliver (CT603) from HMRC?
This letter specifies the exact dates HMRC expects you to file for. If you have one, use those dates - they're the definitive guide.
If you want a May-April year instead:
You'd need to change your Accounting Reference Date (ARD) to 30 April with Companies House first (using form AA01). Only then could you file for a period ending 30 April.
I've put together a guide that explains how CT600 periods work when coming out of dormancy: https://tinytax.co.uk/support/changi ng-accounting-period-after-dormancy
Could you check:
1. What dates are shown on your CT603 letter from HMRC (if you have one)?
2. Have you changed your year-end with Companies House?
That will help me advise on the correct dates for your situation.
